President's Message

Are you READY to take some action to make your business successful?  AAM provides the perfect opportunity for both emerging and established entrepreneurs and small business owners to enhance their businesses through education, networking, commerce and mentoring.  Set aside the time to join us at our educational meetings.  Check out the Calendar of Events.  Come and learn, as well as meet a new face and introduce yourself – maybe even give back by sharing your knowledge.  Members attend for free.  First-time attendees come for free – so bring a colleague!  Non-members pay only $15 – or they can join on the spot for $119, which covers twelve months of membership.

We’re excited about the year ahead - and we want YOU to become involved!  The fastest way to grow your business is by networking.  Get Involved - Volunteer!  If you have 2 hours a month - or 2 hours a year - or simply wish to learn and network, we have a place for you!

Success belongs to those that show up!
If you don’t show up, you can’t connect.
If you can’t connect, you won’t grow.

WHAT IS AAM?

  • An educational resource for microbusinesses nationwide
  • Largest and most active microbusiness group in the U.S.
  • Maintains strategic alliances and networking with other regional business asociations and our exclusive national corporate partners
  • Resource library - Minnesota business start-up rules & regulations, loans and grants, etc.

WHAT WE DO

AAM’s main focus is on Education, Networking, Commerce and Mentoring

AAM achieves these four critical elements by providing numerous member programs and services including the Small Business Expo & Conference. The Expo is the largest and most comprehensive small business event in the Midwest and benefits all attendees, emerging entrepreneurs, and partners of the microbusiness demographic.

The American Association of MicroBusinesses is a non-profit organization founded in 1995 and incorporated in early 1996 (formerly as SEHBA [SouthEast Home-based Business Association], then MHEA [Minnesota Home-based Entrepreneurs Association]). AAM operates year-round with monthly program meetings, a monthly newsletter, special events, and a growing list of member benefits and  services from local and regional, as well as national partners. AAM operates with an autonomous board of directors and enjoys a large list of organizational partners and alliances.

"We incorporated in 1992 and have grown consistently since then.  I attribute this to lots of work and development of an extensive list of contacts.

Even though we do no retail sales, the contacts which we have made through the AAM have proven to be quite helpful."

 - Cameron Smith, CEO
The Oxboro Technologies Group, Inc.

"I am quite impressed with AAM!  They offer great educational opportunities that extend beyond members.  This is a remarkable service -- one that will help, and perhaps inspire businesses to continue their growth."
